Check out this article on 3 top rated cookware sets if you are looking to get some updated cookware or you are looking for a gift for someone

What Set Is The Right Set To Buy

This article will clear up much of the confusion about all the different cookware available. What’s mind-boggling is all the different selections of cookware there is and hopefully this article will help clear up some of the pros and cons of these sets of cookware.

The 3 different sets of cookware I’m going to feature are all higher end products. What’s very difficult to explain is  the ease of cooking with high-end cookware and some problems that we have with low- end pans that most of us start out with.

If you have ever tried to fry on a warped fry pan, I’m sure you found it next to impossible, as boiling water for pasta is hard to achieve when the pan won’t conduct the heat properly or it not comfortable to carry and you are afraid of getting burned, because the handles are poorly constructed. It can be very tiresome to constantly be fighting with your cookware, makes you want to eat out more!

When I moved to Florida I had given away my so called good cookware because it was so heavy and picked up an inexpensive set in Florida.

Didn’t think too much of it until I picked up a spare pan of high-end quality. What an amazing difference. Now all I want to use is the “good stuff”!

I will try to make some sense of it all. Since this article is about the top rated cookware, it will be all about the higher priced pots and pans. There is such a vast array of pots and pans, it’s would be very hard to feature all of them in this one article.

ScanPan Cookware

My #1 choice is Scanpan CTX.  The Scanpan is a superior cookware for all of your cooking needs.

The even heating and the ease of clean-up makes it one of the best sets of cookware around. If you have any issues Scanpan is right there to help you out.

Made in Denmark, this company is firmly committed to being environmentally conscious. They use recycled material and nothing  but top shelf quality is put into everything that they make.

This cookware is suitable for all stove tops, including induction.

Made with Scanpan’s patented non-stick coating for non-stick cooking and ease of clean-up.

In this 10- piece Deluxe Set you get:

1 8″ fry pan

1 10.25 ” fry pan

2 quart saucepans with lid

2 3/4 quart sauce pan with lid

10 1/4 ” saute` pan with lid

7 1/2 quart dutch oven with lid

All very well-made, easy to handle and easy to clean. Price is $698.90 for this 10 pieces set. Click image to purchase this cookware.

You will enjoy cooking very much with this first class cookware.

Cuisinart Multi Clad Pro Stainless Steel 12 piece Set

Another of my top picks.

This cookware is also high end. It’s very durable and fun to cook with. One of the most popular sets around.

An important feature of the Multi Clad Pro is the aluminum or copper core that runs up the side of the pan. Your food will cook evenly. The pans won’t have hot spots, will cool down quickly, and clean up very easily.

A very good price for the quality of the cookware. Easy to handle, no spills or clean-up.Paella

If you are in the kitchen a lot you can appreciate how good it is to have great pans to prepare a meal with. I use it every day and would recommend this set to anyone.

The only drawback is it’s pricey. It’s not as expensive as All-clad but like anything, you get what you pay for. This set will last forever. One of my favorite sets.

Oven safe to 550

Induction friendly

Rims tapered for ease of pouring

Dishwasher safe

Lids are dishwasher safe

12 pieces set includes:

11/2 quart sauce pan

3 quart sauce pan

8″ open skillet

10 ” open skillet

3 1/2 quarts covered saute` pan

8 quarts covered stock pan

Price: $224.99

All-Clad Stainless Steel Cookware

Don’t forget this set.

This cookware is very versatility and hard to beat. The outer stainless steel is magnetic and flat-bottomed, making it usable on any type of cooking surface, including induction.

It also has a star burst finish that helps prevent sticking, even though it is not non-stick. A big plus for easy maintenance.

Stainless steel lids are flat.

The lids fit securely and are light-weigh.

Broiler and oven-safe up to 600 f.

Set consists of 10 pieces.

8″ fry pan

10″ fry pan

2 quart sauce pan w/lid

3 quart sauce pan w/ lid

8 quart stock pan w/ lid

The most expensive set of the 3 different sets featured here. So take into consideration how often you cook, how much you like to cook, how many in the family will be using this cookware, to help you make an informed and good decision. Click here for a good price on this cookware.

This is my review of some of the best cookware available. If you have gone into a store and started looking around at the vast selection of pot and pans, it’s overwhelming and it’s hard to know where to start looking.

My hope is that this article gives you a better understanding of what to look for in your search for the perfect cookware set for you and your family, or as a much appreciated gift for someone.

man and woman cooking

Do you cook healthy? Is your cookware safe? I’m going to explain to you what is the healthiest cookware to own. There is such a vast selection of cookware to purchase, that is almost impossible to know what is the healthiest cookware to consider.

What is the safest cookware for you to purchase? For years many cooks have been using teflon coated skillets and pans without realizing the toxins that are chipping off and being served with our food.

Hopefully this healthiest cookware review will help to enlighten you about what is the best and safest cookware to use when preparing meals for our families.paella pan

Today the Choices Are Many

Thankfully, the choices are many. You have a large assortment to choose from, depending on your budget.

But, that also makes it harder to decide and make sure the cookware is safe for your family.

There are some cookware to definitely stay away from.

Aluminium is not a good metal to cook with. The metal will leach into the food causing many health symptoms. So you would be smart not to invest in this type of cookware.

Non-stick cookware falls into the same catagory. The first non-stick pans were coated with teflon, which chipped off and we soon found out was very toxic. The newer non-stick is suppose to be more durable, but it’s going to chip or scratch eventually so you might as well stay away from that product.

The Good News!!

A Vast Selection to Choose From.

Healthy cookware sets that have been given a stamp of approval are

  • Stainless steel
  • Enameled cast iron
  • Cast iron
  • Glass

Stainless Steel A very popular cookware with many different styles to choose from. There are many reasons to like this type of cookware.
It’s attractive, sturdy, dishwasher safe and healthy to cook with.

There are so many choices, it can be hard to decide which brand would be best for your needs.

Preferably the stainless should be layered with copper for better heat conduction. The more evenly your food will cook. And when you adjust the temperature on the stove the reaction will be quicker.

Stainless is durable and will keep it’s good looks and outlive other types of cookware.

Also look to see if it’s magnetic for the future. If you consider an induction store or range, your cookware will need to be magnetic.

Enameled cast iron

Coated cast-iron is as great to cook with as it is to look at. It cooks very evenly and does not need constant watching so nothing burns.

This cookware is so attractive you can cook and serve from the same piece, with colors to match your kitchen.

It’s on the pricy side but well worth the investment.

Cast Iron

I love using my cast iron fry pan. It can go from the stove top to the oven which makes it very versatile. It’s one of my favorite go-to pans. It’s great for grilling meat and cooking eggs for breakfast. The one thing to remember with cast iron is not to scrub with soap and water and to keep it seasoned.

Seasoning Cast Iron

In order for cast iron cookware to have a non-stick finish it must be seasoned properly.

First, make sure the pan is clean. If the pan is new wipe completely with a damp cloth.

If it has been used, rinse with warm water and scrape any food deposits with a brush. Do not use soap or any abrasive scrubbers on the finish.

Dry thorougly with a clean cloth. Next, apply the seasoning oil, lightly. Use whatever oil you prefer, coconut, vegetable, crisco, flaxseed, any of those are great.

Do not apply the oil too heavy or the oil can become rancid. Definitely not what we want to happen.

Use a clean cloth to apply. Heat oven to 325 degrees. Place the pan in the oven prior to oiling the pan. This will better help the oil adhere to a slightly warm pan.

Rub the oil all over the pan, inside and out. Using a clean cloth wipe any residue oil off the pan. Place oiled pan upside down on oven rack for 1-2 hours.

Place aluminum foil on bottom of oven to catch any drippings, if any.

Turn oven off and leave pan in oven until totaly cooled. If the pan is old, this procedure might need to be done 3-4 times to be effective.

After each use, wash pan right away and towel dry.

Wipe lightly with oil and store upside down on a cloth or paper towel.

Corningware and Glassware

I love the french white corning ware. It’s been around as long as I can remember. It’s my go to pan for any casseroles recipes.

I’m sure every one I know has at least 1 piece of this very classic cookware.

It’s mostly used for casseroles and oven cooking but can be used on top of the stove with one of those clamp-on handles. Very easy to clean, usually just soak in soapy warm water and the residue comes right off.

Also very healthy to cook with.

High-end Cookware

As I’m sure you know there are many different price lines to cookware. From the very expensive to the very budget-minded.

The question is where do you fall when it comes to purchasing a set of cookware or even a few piece. Here are some of the points to consider before you decide on what you want to purchase.

  1. How large is your family?
  2. Does the person using the cookware the most frequently enjoy cooking and being in the kitchen?
  3. How often do you cook?
  4. How often do you eat out or get take-out?
  5. Do you have any serious cooks in the family?

Those are just a few of the things to consider when you start looking for cookware.
Myself, I LOVE to cook and bake and experiment with different recipes. So I have a large arsenal of cookware (not all matching). Some I purchased myself and some were gifts and hand-me-downs. Also, many times I cook for a crowd and need larger size pans than a single person or a couple.

But my #1 choice for the very best cookware is Scanpan Cookware. It’s not well -heard of as it’s made in Denmark, although it’s starting to make a name for itself everywhere.

It’s very well crafted and will last forever.

Scanpan come in many different models depending on what type of cookware you enjoy cooking with.**

My favorite is Scanpan CTX Cookware

The ultimate in cookware. The outstanding design is crafted with the most durable materials. No chipping or peeling with this non-stick cookware.

The coating is made witth a combination of titanium and ceramic. Very durable and guaranteed not to peel or chip. Exclusive made by Scanpan for their non-stick scanpan line.

The base is made with 5 layers of aluminum and stainless steel from recycled metals.

The pans receive even heat throughout, making cooking a breeze.

Pros:

  • Ergonomic handles
  • Finest workmanship
  • Ovensafe at 500
  • Dishwasher friendly
  • Made from recycled metals
  • Well designd
  • Safe for induction stoves and ranges

Cons:

    • Very expensive

Hopefully this will enlighten you on what to look for in healthy cookware.

There is a vast number of cookware available if you look in any department store at the large selection. This article was written to help you look at the healthier types of cookware and make an informed decision on what to purchase for yours and your families needs.

  • If you are looking for the best of the best in cookware, you will get all the information here on the highest rated nonstick cookware set available. I am going to walk you through all the pluses and minuses of this brand of cookware and which model might be best for your needs.
  • One reason Scanpan cookware is rated so high is due to it being healthy to cook with. Everyone wants that!
  • This cookware is completely free of PFOA and PFOS.

Top preforming cookware for you

Scanpan cookware is top performing, best in it’s class. It’s possibly one of the top rated cookware sets. Because of that it is also one of the priceist set around. It is made in Denmark and has ben around for 60 years and prides itself on using only recycled materials in it’s manufacturing of their pot and pans and also uses recycled material in it’s packaging. This company is concerned about the environment.

How Scanpan is Made

Scanpan cookware is made from a titanium surface applied to high quality aluminum and heated to 30,000 degrees. This process bonds the two metals together forming a non stick finish that will not wear off or chip away.

It’s probably one of the most durable finishes on any non stick cookware. Completely dishwasher safe and you can use any type of utensil with this cookware.

Buying this cookware can make it a major desision for you as most good cookware is not inexpensive. But as the saying  goes “you get what you pay for”.

If you are an amatuer chef or really don’t care about being in the kitchen, than your needs will be a lot less than someone that likes to cook and try different dishes and recipes.

Also the number of people you will be cooking for will dicitate what type of pans and the amount of cookware you will need to purchase.

How to choose your new cookware

The things to look for when choosing your new cookware are:

  • How many will you be cooking for. That will determine the size of the pans you purchase. Always go a little larger, making it easier to cook in.
  • Are you concerned if everything matches in your kitchen. Well Scanpan does not come in colors, just black and brushed stainless steel, which is very attractive.
  • Scanpan is made with aluminum and stainless steel for added strength.
  • Scanpan makes it’s own non-stick coating which is far superior to any other’s manufacturer’s coating.
  • It will not scratch, chip or crack, guaranteed.
  • Be aware that cookware is counted in all the pieces. A lid counts for a piece of the set, so if you order a 9 piece set, probably 4 of those pieces are lids.
  • You can use any utensil when cooking with this cookware. The patented finish can stand up to any utensil’s material.

Is this cookware induction friendly?

The latest rage or addition in the latest or greatest cooking is the induction range. Are they good and worth the price. Most people that have one will say yes. Plus very safe, quick and very efficient. I have not researched the induction ovens and ranges, so I can’t give you an informed answer.

So is the Scanpan non-stick cookware compatible?

All cookware that has induction ready bottoms are perfectly acceptable for use on a induction cooktop or range.

Yes, your cookware will work better with a flat surface as opposed to a warped bottom, but that’s true of any stove or range.

A pot or cookware must contain magnetic qualities for it to cook well on induction range.

Unfortunately, not all Scanpans are compatible to induction cooking.

But the IQ range, Impact, CTX range, Fusion are worthy, for are all induction stovetop or range friendly.

Caring for Scanpan non-stick cookware

Keeping your Scanpan nonstick cookware clean is essential. In fact it’s a no-brainer.

As with any cookware, it’s necessary that any pot or pan be kept clean to ensure optima cooking results and good hygiene. If  some food get stuck on your non-stick cookware, remove it by adding water to the pan with 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Bring to a boil for a couple of minutes. Let cool and clean as usual.

I like to clean my non-stick with Barkeepers Friend, a mild abrasive which is designed for pots and pans.

Why Scanpan?

Granted Scanpan cookware is not as well known as some other brands, but the highest quality is there.

Because Scanpan is made in Denmark it has not gotten the recognition it deserves.

Scanpan provides durable non stick surfaces which are safe to use, have very even heat distribution for even cooking without any hot spots.

Scanpan will far surpass any other cookware and there are some very good products available to purchase. You will be very happy with your  cooking results and the longevity of the products.
